Q&A with Thomas Jefferson Academy’s Blake Dollar

Meet Blake Dollar, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound pitcher/outfielder from Thomas Jefferson Academy who is uncommitted. Dollar is a member of the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA) Big 10 cover for the 2023 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.

Q: What in-game rituals or superstitions do you have?

A: I always say a prayer to myself before each game and always reset my batting gloves after each pitch.

Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?

A: Atlanta Braves

Q: What is your favorite food to eat?

A: Chicken and rice.

Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?

A: I am very OCD when it comes to things like my room and my truck.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?

A: Favorite teacher - Mrs. Amber Dowdy, favorite subject - Government.

Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?  

A: Deer and turkey hunting.

Q: If you could travel anywhere outside the U.S., what would be your dream location and why?

A: Canada, a lot of different hunting opportunities.

Q: Name the person you'd like to meet the most and why?

A: Austin Riley. He likes to play baseball and hunt.

Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?

A: My parents, because they have always believed in me and pushed me to be the best I can be.

Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?

A: Land management.
