Meet Drew Burress, a 5-foot-9, 185-pound outfielder/third-baseman from Houston County High School who has committed to Georgia Tech. Burress is a member of the South Georgia Big 10 cover for the 2023 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.

Q: What in-game rituals or superstitions do you have?

A: My bat has to be first one on the bat rack. Nobody can touch my bats. I have to shave before game days.

Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?

A: Atlanta Braves

Q: What is your favorite food to eat?

A: Hibachi chicken.

Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you? 

A: I am dirty at playing ping pong.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?

A: Coach Matt Hopkins -- lunch.

Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby? 

A: I like to wake surf and snow ski.

Q: If you could travel anywhere outside the U.S., what would be your dream location and why?

A: Go to the Swiss alps to ski and visit France.

Q: Name the person you'd like to meet the most.

A: Mike Trout - I want to talk about how he maintains his consistency to be the best in the game year in and year out.

Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My dad - he instilled the love of the game in me and the desire to get better.

Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
