STATESBORO -- Prince Avenue Christian didn't want to have to return to Georgia Southern's JI Clements Field for a potential third game in the best-of-three Georgia High School Association Class 1A Division I state baseball championship series, especially not with the Wolverines having to return to home Saturday for graduation ceremonies.

Prince wanted to end it. Friday night. In two games.

And they did just that.

After needing eight innings in Game 1 to defeat Tallulah Falls 6-5 on Dylan White's walk-off double, the Wolverines used a five-run fourth-inning in Game 2 to build a big lead, then held on for a 9-4 victory to sweep the best-of-three Georgia High School Association Class 1A Division I state championship series.

Prince Avenue Christian (34-3) rolled to their second straight state title in dominant fashion.

But the Wolverines did sweat things a little -- at least in Game 1 -- when Tallulah Falls jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning with RBI singles from Diego Gonzalez and Chase Pollock.

Tallulah Falls (27-12), playing in its first state baseball championship series, took a 5-3 lead into the seventh before Prince's Trey Taylor's two-run single tied the game and sent and it into extra innings, setting up White's heroics.

In Game 2, Eli Attaway's two-run double, Connor Causby's RBI single, Kyler Giddens' RBI single and Hudson Hill's RBI single in the top of the fourth inning helped the Wolverines to a five-run advantage and they were never seriously threatened the rest of the way.
