Meet Cannon Goldin, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound outfielder from Buford High School. Goldin is a member of the Metro Big 10 cover for the 2025 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals or superstitions do you have?
A: For home games at Buford, I eat my pregame meal in between my cage work and our on-field BP.
Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl?
A: I am a morning person. I feel a lot more productive getting out of bed and doing all of my work for the day.
Q: What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
A: On the weekends, I like to get all my training done in the morning/afternoon. Then I have the rest of the day to either watch college football or college baseball, depending on the time of the year.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
A: I am color blind.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?
A: Coach Winslette. Social Studies.
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?
A: Pickleball.
Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?
A: My first football season I was randomly given #9. I have been stuck ever since.
Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?
A: I love how competitive the sport is right now. I also love the little details that make this game so special and easy to appreciate.
Q: Do you have any pets? If so, talk about them.
A: I have a dog named Blitz. She is my childhood dog. She is the happiest pet every time we come home!
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
A: N/A, just baseball for me right now.
