Meet Banks Booth, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound shortstop/pitcher from Pinewood Christian Academy. Booth is a member of the GIAA Big 10 cover for the 2025 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals do you have?
A: I always put my batting gloves and elbow guard on before my helmet.
Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl?
A: Night Owl 100%.
Q: What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
A: Playing golf and hanging out with my friends.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
A: I can make a pound cake with the best.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?
A: My favorite teacher is Mr. Solosi and my favorite subject is Anatomy.
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?
A: Golf and video games.
Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?
A: I wear number 2. It’s a reminder to me that I am second. God is first.
Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?
A: The friendships made through the game, and the feeling of countless hours and hard work and practice paying off when you come through in a big moment.
Q: Do you have any pets? If so, talk about them.
A: I have four pets. three dogs and one cat. We have a Boykin Spaniel and her name is Stella, Australian Shepherd named Ruby. We found a dog on our road but he’s a mix of a few dogs and his name is (mad) Max. And our cat’s name is Mama Cat.
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
A: I plan on being a team doctor in baseball/football. I want to get kids back on the field as quickly as possible because I know the feeling of not being out there because of injury.
