
Meet Cason Fletcher, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound shortstop from Lowndes High School. Fletcher is a member of the South Georgia Big 10 cover for the 2026 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals do you have?
A: I will always have a Reese's, blue Gatorade and say my own prayer before every game.
Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?
A: Atlanta Braves.
Q: What is your favorite food to eat?
A: Steak.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
A: I've helped with the special education at school the last two years. I've always had a special place in my heart for those kids.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?
A: Mrs. Whitney Robinson. She has always inspired me because even though she has been through so much, she still works hard at what she loves. Favorite subject is Social Studies.
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?
A: Hunting and fishing.
Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?
A: I have always worn No. 24 because it was my dad's number when he played baseball. It has always been special to my family.
Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?
A: What I like most about baseball is the life lessons you learn along the way.
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
A: My parents have been the most influential people in my life because they push me every day to not only be a better ball player but a better person.
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
A: I want to be a physical therapist and help other athletes stay on the field.
