
Meet Troup County's Jake Perry, a 5-foot-9, 165-pound pitcher from Troup County High School. Perry is a member of the South Georgia Big 10 cover for the 2026 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals do you have?
A: Superstition: During the 2025 season, I never washed my arm sleeve, and I wore the same PSD Hamburger Underwear to every game. Ritual: Before I pitch and hit, I draw a cross on the mound and at the plate.
Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?
A: Atlanta Braves.
Q: What is your favorite food to eat?
A: Crawfish or low country boil.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
A: In 2021, we, TEAM GEORGIA, won the Dixie Youth World Series.. In 2025, we, TROUP TIGERS, won the 3A State Championship. Eight of my teammates from Team Georgia also played on the Troup High State Championship team.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?
A: Ms. Ward. Math.
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?
A: Golf.
Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?
A: No. 10. I inherited that number from my dad.
Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?
A: The memories along the way and winning.
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
A: The Big Man Upstairs. Psalm 28:7 : The Lord is my strength and my shield
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
A: Just baseball or join the PGA Tour.
