
Meet Ty Tillery, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound outfielder/pitcher from Morgan County High School. Tillery is a member of the North Georgia Big 10 cover for the 2026 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals do you have?
A: When I step on the mound, I draw a cross and I draw a heart with the letters A & B (initials of the kids that passed away earlier this year).
Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?
A: Seattle Seahawks.
Q: What is your favorite food to eat?
A: Steak.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
A: I would say I'm introverted and enjoy being at home and being with my family.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?
A: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Michelle Ozburn. My favorite subject is history.
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?
A: Golf.
Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?
A: I wear No. 23. I wear this number because my dad always wore it playing basketball and baseball. I wanted to grow up and be just like him.
Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?
A: I enjoy the friendships I have made and life lessons learned over the past 10 years of playing. I also use it as a platform to spread the name of Jesus Christ.
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
A: The most influential person is my life is my dad. He always pushes me to be the best version of myself all the time. After everything he and my mother have done for me, my goal is to be able to give back to them one day.
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
A: Have a career in the Major Leagues or become an agent for MLB players.
