Meet Hunter Atkins, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound pitcher/first-baseman from Rockmart High School. Atkins is a member of the North Georgia Big 10 cover for the 2025 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.

Q: What in-game rituals do you have?

A: Never touch the white line, and I always do a cross with my foot and three taps.

Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl?

A: Morning person.

Q: What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?

A: At the lake.

Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?

A: I love shoes/cleats. You can’t have enough of them.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?

A: Favorite Teacher: Mrs. Jones. Subject: History.

Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?

A: Golf.

Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?

A: #7, because it’s God’s number.

Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?

A: The people you meet and being able to pursue a passion in it.

Q: Do you have any pets? If so, talk about them.

A: No.

Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?

A: Hopefully MLB, next I want to be a baseball recruiter.  I want to find another kid like me that didn’t let their ranking define who they were. I want to help those kids live out their dream at the next level.
