Meet Jin Kasuya, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound infielder from Seckinger High School. Kasuya is a member of the Metro Big 10 cover for the 2025 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals do you have?
A: I pray before each game alone after team prayer.
Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl?
A: Night owl.
Q: What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
A: Going to hang our with friends on the lake.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
A: I love country music.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?
A: Mrs. Carter (Physics).
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?
A: Fishing and Pickleball.
Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?
A: #7 because it was given to me at 11u when I joined East Cobb Astros and I’ve stuck with it ever since.
Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?
A: The competitive nature of the game brings, as well as the bond and connections you make with people along the way. Also, the lessons that this game leaves while you deal with adversity.
Q: Do you have any pets? If so, talk about them.
A: Rosie, she’s a wiener dog.
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
A: To make it as far as I can with my abilities, but if things don’t work out, I want to stay within the game of baseball and help the next generation of players. Coaches/Agent/Trainer etc.
