Meet John Stuetzer, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound shortstop/outfielder from Pope High School. Stuetzer is a member of the Metro Big 10 cover for the 2025 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals do you have?
A: I take my batting gloves off to run the bases.
Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl?
A: Night Owl.
Q: What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
A: On the lake with some friends.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
A: I am just as good at lake sports as I am at baseball.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?
A: My favorite teacher is Coach Turco. My favorite subject is Astronomy.
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?
A: Football.
Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?
A: #4 because my older brother wore it for football.
Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?
A: Running bases.
Q: Do you have any pets? If so, talk about them.
A: We have a boxer named Champ. He is the best dog ever. He puts a smile on my face every day.
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
A: I plan to major in Sports Management and might consider starting a snowboard company where designs can be customized.
