
Meet Deion Cole, a 6-foot, 185-pound infielder/outfielder from Etowah High School. Cole is a member of the Metro Atlanta Big 10 cover for the 2026 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals do you have?
A: I like to pray before every at bat, and I have to put on cologne before every game.
Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?
A: Atlanta Braves.
Q: What is your favorite food to eat?
A: Jerk chicken.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
A: I like to fish and golf.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?
A: My favorite teacher is my 8th-grade English teacher Mrs. Torson, and my favorite subject is math.
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?
A: Playing football or fishing.
Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?
A: No. 8, I wear that number because I have worn it since I was little and got the nickname "Ocho."
Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?
A: The joy it brings me and the lessons I get to learn.
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
A: My father has been the most influential person in my life because he has guided me throughout my whole life to do the right thing and has been a great example of what a great father, son, husband and just overall good human is supposed to look like.
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
A: After baseball, I hope I can have a career to travel the world and get into the car business.
