
Meet Kolby Martin, a 6-foot, 180-pound shortstop from Sequoyah High School. Martin is a member of the Metro Atlanta Big 10 cover for the 2026 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals do you have?
A: I always do the same warm-up in the batting cages.
Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?
A: Chicago Cubs.
Q: What is your favorite food to eat?
A: Spaghetti.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
A: I started switch-hitting when I was six years old.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?
A: Coach King and my favorite high school subject is math.
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby?
A: Football.
Q: What jersey number do you wear and what reason did you choose that number?
A: No. 1. I don't know why I'm No. 1, it was just available.
Q: What do you like the most about playing baseball?
A: The process of hitting and how much of a game of failure it is. You have to stay up mentally throughout the whole season.
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
A: Jesus Christ because He is the center of my life and He is my Lord and Savior.
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?
A: Something in either business management or finance.
