Q&A with Stratford’s Jimmy Bowden

Meet Jimmy Bowden, a 6-foot-0, 195-pound outfielder/catcher/pitcher from Stratford Academy who is uncommitted. Bowden is a member of the Georgia Independent Athletic Association Big 10 cover for the 2023 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.

Q: What in-game rituals or superstitions do you have?

A: I always pull my sleeves up before every pitch.

Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?

A: Atlanta Braves.

Q: What is your favorite food to eat?

A: Pizza.

Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you? 

A: I’ve learned to stay positive and work hard after dealing with a torn ACL last year playing high school football, then partially re-tearing it this year in football practice.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?

A: Mrs. Jones - 10th grade math. Math is my favorite high school subject.

Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby? 

A: Football and hanging out with friends.

Q: If you could travel anywhere outside the U.S., what would be your dream location and why?

A: Caribbean Islands because it seems nice and I like the beach.

Q: Name the person you'd like to meet the most.

A: Kevin Hart because I think he is one of the funniest people in the world.

Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My older brother, because he is someone I can always look up to for help and advice. He has always been there for me when I need to talk.

Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?

A: Get an engineering degree or an athletic training degree.
